I am a 31-year old part-time speech pathologist and I live in San Antonio, TX with my husband and daughter. My daughter was born on October 8, 2011. You can read about her birth story here. We also have a Yorkie/Shih-Tzu mix yipper, Mattie, who drives me crazy, but I try hard to love her, even when she's barking as I put the baby down.
I was born in the beautiful state of Rhode Island, where my parents still live. I loved living there, but moved to San Antonio after college as a short-term adventure, but ended up meeting the "cowboy" from my dreams, and now I'm stuck. I do love San Antonio; the people are so friendly and I've made some amazing friends, but I miss home. I enjoy listening to the "y'all"s and drawls of the people down here, and I majored in Spanish in college, so I am able to practice the language in my work sometimes. I have an older sister, who used to live in San Antonio, but since she's in the military, she was moved to Florida, with her husband, and my adorable niece and nephew. My younger brother lives in Denver, CO with his wife and new dog...who is yet to be named. I'm very close to my family even though we're all separated to different states, we manage to visit each other every couple months.
Random info: I don't drop my "r's", except when I say the word "quarter", in which case I'm told I say "qwahter". I love sushi, pasta and falafel. Give me any sort of carb, and I'm good. I love Macaroni Grille. I enjoy sushi, but have a irrational fear that I will choke on it every. time. Actually, I have an irrational fear that I will choke on anything that has a slippery texture, if I take a bite too big. I am a purse person. I obsess over my baby's naps. I breastfeed. I always return a phone call or text. I am always trying to remember to live in the moment. I love my Toyota Corolla, even though now my husband is forced to drive it, while I drive the monster Toyota Tundra with baby. "It's safer"- he should have let me get my minivan when I wanted it. Just sayin.
I blog mostly about adventures with baby, cooking, and anything else that might pop into my mind. I am trying a "Project 52", inspired by styleberryBlog. After having Gwendolyn, I really thought it was important to document her life moments so I can look back and read them when she's a teenager and I won't be allowed to cuddle, or squish her, or hold her anymore. I hope those days don't come too fast, because I'm loving every minute of this life right now.
